Beneath a sky of shining blue,
a playground full of bliss!
Valeria, the curious girl,
demands an experiment's kiss.
And Leo, who dreams of spaceships,
the stars he longs to find.
They were playing hide-and-seek,
leaving no friend behind.
When suddenly, a strange sensation!
A lightness they embrace,
As if the weight from their
bodies vanished without a trace.
Leo floats up to a branch,
a shock of pure delight!
"Valeria, look, I'm flying!
What a confusing sight!"
Oh, the Gravity, the Mischievous
One, decided to rebel!
It stole the force that holds
us down, the story it will tell!
We're jumping and we're floating
in the air so free and high.
A physics adventure under a bright, blue sky!
The natural law is laughing,
what a histrionic show!
It's time for us to hover, wherever we may go!
The children of the park are
cheering, what a joyful sound!
But Valeria whispers: "This
isn't just fun all around."
The leaves descend so slowly,
like feathers in a sway.
A soccer ball bounces forever, refusing to obey.
"Gravity is the law," she thinks,
"the reason things must fall."
"If we leap too far, will
we crash against a wall?"
Then appears Mr. Garcia, the wise
librarian, clinging to a post,
"Children, the law is broken!
We must find out what is lost!"
"Gravity is so crucial," explains
the floating, elder gent.
"It keeps the world in order,
we must discover where it went!"
They float towards the library,
what a theatrical trip!
They grab the books of science,
with a focused, serious grip.
"It's the force that orders
planets around the solar sun."
"Without it, chaos happens,
and all our games are undone."
Oh, the Gravity, the Mischievous
One, decided to rebel!
It stole the force that holds
us down, the story it will tell!
We're jumping and we're floating
in the air so free and high.
A physics adventure under a bright, blue sky!
The natural law is laughing,
what a histrionic show!
It's time for us to hover, wherever we may go!
They read about Newton, Kepler,
and the solar system's dance.
Science is the mystery, a curious chance!
And reading the final page, with
a thump, a sudden, heavy fall!
Gravity returns abruptly, answering the
call. Back on the floor, all for all!
Mr. Garcia smiles: "The lesson it gave today,
Is that important things are unseen,
and they must always stay."
Valeria and Leo learned:
"Don't take things for granted, dear."
Since that day, every jump is celebrated,
year after year!
Thank you, Gravity!
